Menopause Relief

A colleague of mine once had a ticket for a flight that she has been planning on for months. She was going to Ireland to retrace her family’s origins. When she arrived at the airport however, she became filled with fear, anxiety, and emotion. So much so that she couldn’t even board the plane and the trip was canceled.

If you’re anything like my friend than these panic attacks might have come as a surprise. Maybe you have the occasional one once in awhile, but nothing this severe. My friend, through further observation and medical examination, found out that she had a hormonal imbalance that weakened her system and the stress of traveling abroad put too much anxiety on her to handle.

These hormonal imbalances, fatigue, and anxiety and panic attacks might seem unrelated at first. But, if you see the relationship between how stress and exhaustion can drain the body that results in a hormonal imbalances it all becomes very clear.

A general fatigue is when the body is subject to unnecessary stress. The Adrenal glands are also known for producing adrenaline, giving the body of a burst of energy when dealing with stressful or dangerous situations. The flight or fight response. However, when the demands are continuous, adrenal fatigue will set in and you will become vulnerable to a lot of symptoms such as panic attacks.

Anxiety during menopause is magnified because progesterone production decreases. Progesterone is used to help calm people down. But during menopause your body is going through times of hormonal changes and supplies will be low. It is very easy for anxiety to take over.

If you’re suffering from adrenal fatigue thing you need to make radical life changes. For instance learning to sleep more at night (or maybe even during the day!) or learning to say no when you’re asked to do a favor or some unnecessary task. These are the type of things that can bring a little sanity back to your life and a little progesterone back to your body.
